Presentation: Mt. Everest 2006: Making
Decisions That Matter
In the spring of 2006 Andrew had the opportunity
to attempt Mt. Everest, a goal he had first set for himself when
he began climbing over twenty years ago. Two hundred metres below
the top, Andrew and his fellow climbers discovered Lincoln Hall,
a man who had been presumed dead. Assisting Lincoln to recover,
and to organize his rescue, meant giving up the summit, and a lifelong
dream.

Testimonials
A truly inspiring message
Andrew, I wanted to send a short note to again thank
you for coming to speak with our group of new financial advisors.
The feedback from the group on your presentation was excellent.
What you have accomplished in your climbing career
and your most recent experience in climbing Mount Everest is a truly
inspiring message. Your presentation really resonated with our group
not only in reinforcing what it takes to succeed, but in the importance
of remaining true to your principles to achieve the ultimate success.
While we can't fully appreciate what you went through,
your powerful story aided by the realism of your slides and video
gave us some strong insights, which will have a lasting impact.
It was a privilege to have met you.

A great show
I’d recommend Andrew for anything from a sidewalk
corner to Carnegie Hall. His show was great – good images,
clear message, narrative arc, and connected well to a diverse audience.
You can’t ask for much more.

A beautiful blending of slides, video and
music
I found your story to be inspiring and heroic. It
is a wonderful story and I can only hope that I too would have made
the right decision as you did, should I ever find myself in such
a dilemma. It is something that we all hope we will do but, as you
well know, many people choose a more self-centered path. It is when
we hear stories like yours that we are reminded that there are always
choices to be made in life and sometimes they have to be made in
times of heavy physical and mental stress. You made the right choice
and we are all very proud of you.
The presentation was also very good, in fact it
was excellent. It was a beautiful blending of slides, video and
music and executed so well with your understated style and humour.
The length was perfect.
I wish you well.

A must for everyone to see and hear
Andrew Brash talked to over 200 member of
the Calgary Substitute Teacher group at Central Memorial High School
in Calgary on September 7, 2006. His inspirational speech was very
motivating to members of the audience.
When Andrew shared the harrowing trip up
Everest, gasps of astonishment were heard as the group took in the
slide show.
The members of the audience became more informed of the dangers
that climbers face on the mountain and how they overcome adversity.
The rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber, who was left
to die on the mountain, was a remarkable story of human survival.
In fact this rescue was even discussed in a recent St. John's ambulance
First Aid course held recently.
Andrew and his colleagues are true heroes
in the mountain spirit.
Andrew's talk is a must for everyone to see and hear.

The audience totally ecstatic through his
presentation
With great pleasure we write this letter to endorse
Andrew Brash, a dedicated mountaineer and educator with whom we
had an opportunity to work in connection with our endeavors to raise
awareness in Canada on contemporary issues of Nepal.
We found Mr. Brash to be the most humble, sincere
and objective person. His dedication to the causes of the Himalayas
and the people living in the region is exemplary and it took so
little time to bring him on board for the mission we had.
Mr. Brash came to Ottawa from Calgary as a guest
speaker for our program, Himalayan Heartbeat, organized in Ottawa
on 7 July 2006. This program was attended by many prominent Canadians
and was a phenomenal success for which Mr Brash deserves a lion’s
share of credit. He had prepared a presentational material of great
significance and had given such an attention to the details that
he was able to keep the audience totally ecstatic through his presentation.
Among Mr. Brash’s great characteristics are
his humility and respect for others. Despite his own accomplishments,
refinements and accolades that can dwarf those of many, his humbleness
is apparent in his actions. He takes his missions and duties seriously
and executes them with extreme precision and perfection. He is self-reliant,
resourceful and committed to his missions.
With great confidence that we can recommend a person
like Andrew Brash to take on any serious mission in which his heart
compels him to be triumphant.

He transported us to awe-inspiring corners
of the globe
No one will soon forget the images, sounds and story
that Andrew Brash shared as the closing speaker for the 2006 Dreambuilders
Education Conference. His presentation held the audience spellbound,
as he transported us to awe-inspiring corners of the globe that
few would ever see, and unfolded an amazing story of determination
and personal integrity. The sincere, captivating and inspiring presentation
by Andrew Brash was the perfect closing to the conference, which
this year had the theme, Imagine the Possibilities.

Andrew Brash is a professional to deal with
in every way
My firm contracted Mr. Andrew Brash to be the keynote
speaker for three presentations in different cities in Manitoba,
Canada. We hoped that Andrew’s personal account of the heroic
rescue on Mount Everest of Australian mountain climber, Lincoln
Hall, would attract more people to our events. His warm and personal
delivery of this story combined with video and stills from this
and other climbing adventures he has experienced held the audience
in thrall. Andrew’s expeditions to exotic places seem to be
almost not of this world. Everyone in attendance was mesmerized
with the content and style of his story. You could literally have
heard a pin drop in a crowd of 200 people. He showed grace by signing
autographs for and/or talking to every person who approached him
following his presentation. Andrew Brash is a professional to deal
with in every way. An example of this was displayed when we needed
to make last minute changes in travel plans due to weather conditions.
Andrew made the adjustment with no fanfare whatsoever. We are extremely
pleased with all areas of his participation in our events. On a
personal level, I feel privileged to have met this true Canadian
hero.

I still recall the hush that fell over the audience
I would take this opportunity to once again thank
you for your inspiring and insightful keynote address at our annual
Education Fair held on September 10, 2006. This sold out event attracted
over 500 parents and students to the University of Calgary, many
parents and students have remarked to us time and again in formal
evaluations and in informal chats about the impact the presentation
had on their perspective of the world and the possibilities that
exist as long as one focuses on attaining excellence in what ever
it is that they pursue.
I still recall the hush that fell over the audience
at the University of Calgary Theater as they heard you describe
the beginning of your journey over incredibly exposed roads to base
camp and the riveted expressions in their faces as they hung on
to every word when you described the arduous journey back from within
site of the summit, rescuing Lincoln Hall from certain death.
The standing ovation that you received at the conclusion
of your address was well deserved and parents, students and dignitaries
were moved on many levels with a story that inspired a renewed belief
that one can achieve success in anything they strive for including
education.
Many thanks once more for sharing your story with
us and for giving our youth the inspiration to reach for the top.
You are a role model and a great humanitarian for what you did in
your journey. Your personal touch at the presentation is something
that our youth will always remember and we hope that you continue
this message in the future. We thank you for accepting our invitation
to address our community and wish you success.
